- Travelling cost: it is related to the distance that the picker has to travel in order to pick the item. Stopping cost: it is associated with the number of different picking stops, directly related to order batching problems.
- Grabbing cost: it is associated with the number of cartons that picks at each stop.
- Closing cost: it includes all the activities related to operations at the computer station.
