Inland Container Depots

  • ICDs also referred to as Container Freight Stations [CFS], Inland Port Depots or dry ports because they are inland (away from the sea)
  • ICDs are intermodal terminals directly connected by road or rail to a seaport and operate as centres for the transshipment of sea cargo to inland destinations. 
  • ICDs may also include facilities for storage and consolidation of goods, maintenance for road or rail cargo carriers and customs clearance services.
